Farm Animal Husbandry Consults Now Available!

Farm Animal Husbandry Consults Now Available!

Having witnessed one too many threads of comments and “advice” being offered on social media I have made the decision to offer online farm animal husbandry consults – $40 for 15 minutes.

As a veterinarian and farmer, I am happy to offer advice across many areas of farm animal care. If you are new to raising bottle fed lambs or calves, with a few burning questions, then I’m here to help.

Cut through the barrage of misinformation online and get personal one on one advice for your individual situation. We can set up a consult style that suits you, perhaps a video call so I can see your setup, or maybe you prefer to ask questions via email or messenger, sending me some photos of your animals and a description of what you would like help with.

A bit about me
I graduated from Liverpool University in 2008, with a degree in Veterinary Science. I am a fully qualified veterinarian, registered with the New Zealand Veterinary Council. I am from a farming background in the UK and I also have extensive knowledge around veterinary care and management of horses, having grown up on a Thoroughbred stud and even held my amateur jockey licence in my youth!

After spending 9 years in mixed veterinary practice in New Zealand I am now full time at home on the farm.

On our farm in Patoka, Hawkes Bay I breed cattle, sheep, pigs, goats, chickens and ducks and occasionally dogs, with a strong focus on high welfare, ethical and sustainable animal management and food production.

Together with my husband, we finish approximately 500 bulls annually in our intensive commercial grass based farming system.

So if you have a query from, ‘What temperature should my brooder be set at?’ to ‘How many litres a day should I feed my calf?’ I’m here to help, so get in touch via my book a consult page!
